Guided Tours - Hong Kong Maritime Museum | |
The setting of Hong Kong Harbour, with its bustle of ships and ferries, is so apt for a museum devoted to the maritime history and trade of the Pearl River Delta. China`s maritime heritage, the Canton Trade, the Pirate Coast, Hong Kong`s harbour, the evolution of China`s sea routes, relations with foreign powers, maritime communications, charting, navigation and pilotage, sounds of the sea, shipping today, port development and safety at sea and Chinese marine art – all feature in the Hong Kong Maritime Museum`s galleries. In addition to documenting the past in terms of how China, Asia and the West have developed boats, ships, maritime exploration, trade and naval warfare, the Museum also covers the present by explaining global trends and the importance of shipping to Hong Kong`s economy. Visitors of all ages and nationalities can find something that interests them, learn new facts and enjoy the interactive displays. |
